Teens - Driving

  • Teen Electronic Event Notification Service (Teens) - a voluntary free service offered by the DMV that provides an opportunity for the parent or guardian of a minor, under the age of 18, to be notified in the event that a ticket, conviction, suspension, revocation or crash appears on the minor’s driver’s license record.

    Regulation change effective June 1, 2013.
    The NYS Department of Motor Vehicles will increase the number of points issued against an individual’s driving record upon the conviction for texting-while-driving and cell-phone related infractions from the current three points to five points.
